What good grading has to get right
A finished grade must move water, support the finished surface, and meet the existing ground without low spots or sharp transitions.
- Positive drainage
- The grade should carry water away from foundations, structures, and slabs. We plan slopes and swales so runoff has somewhere to go.
- Compaction
- A pad or driveway is only as stable as its base. Proper compaction reduces settling and the cracking that follows it.
- Clean tie-ins
- New grade has to meet existing ground, drives, and neighboring lots without creating low spots or abrupt transitions.
- Surface readiness
